GEOBLAIR /// ABOUT /// HUMAN GEOGRAPHY /// PUBLIC FIELD NOTEBOOK ///

about

place / observation / movement / community interaction

geoblair is an independent human geography archive and public-facing field notebook focused on Blairgowrie and the surrounding landscapes of Perthshire.

The project began alongside undergraduate dissertation research exploring third spaces, local identity, movement, belonging and community interaction.

Rather than presenting place only through statistics or maps, this archive focuses on atmosphere, routine, observation, memory and everyday experience.

geoblair is also a technical exercise in independent web design and digital infrastructure. Alongside the geographical focus, the project involved building and styling pages in HTML/CSS, configuring a custom domain and DNS records, and creating a self-authored digital archive outside mainstream social media platforms.

“place is experienced before it is analysed”
